Pepper, a robot to welcome guests at the NOI Techpark

Pepper is a “social robot”, i.e., a robot that has the goal to attract an audience and interact with them through words and gestures. It is used to contribute to the customer experience of a business or location by entertaining and informing visitors about products and services at a given location. In this talk I want to briefly describe what Pepper can do (which sensors it has, that it can listen, answer to predefined queries, display information on its tablet) and how we programmed it also using data coming from various data sources like the OpenDataHub. After this talk, people will understand what the hardware is capable of and how this “IoT-device” can be used in their own context.
