Is the democratic process open-source? And if not, why?
The parliaments of the governemental sector create the source code for society. The legal sector and authorities execute policies and procedures on this source code. But is this source code created in an open-source culture?
An open-source approach could look like: Pull requests by political parties. Issues from citizens. Forks from NGOs and lobby groups with ideas for changes. Approvals from elected politicians and parliaments.
This vision needs mindset change in society and requires the legal sector and governmental processes to change. How can open-source society provide an easy framework for a future democratic process and executable law.
